You know when you have so much to say but don’t know where to start? That is how it’s been every time I’ve tried to put into words how grateful I am for the year that was 2013.
I am thankful to my family for being my biggest fans and critics, a special thank you to my husband who has to live off chocolate and satsumas during the peak of wedding season and doesn’t complain.
Thank you to the totally awesome couples who put their faith in me, I have had the most amazing time photographing your memories and made some lifelong friends along the way and a big thank you to the industry colleagues who have helped me throughout this first full year, especially all those at RBBS and the very talented second shooters too, you guys are ace.
2013 was such a fantastic year, I have seen 22 lush couples get married this year with a variety of ceremonies at varied venues, I’ve travelled throughout the UK and to Ireland and Toronto to capture some beautiful weddings (some of which are yet to be blogged in full, so look out for those in the next few weeks), I have laughed at some incredibly funny speeches, cried at the vidais and rukhsatis, balle balle’ed at some great reception parties, eaten lots of gulab jamuns, samosas and biryanis, drank lots of chai and worked the peak of wedding season with a broken toe, and you know what? I can’t wait to do it ALL over again this year (except the broken toe)
2013 also saw a complete rebrand of what used to be Upendo Images, to the new name and logo, Bhavna Barratt. I love the new look and feel and it’s a lot more me 🙂 The new branding was created by Peter Wilbourne who is both lovely and talented.
Thank you 2013 for being AWESOME.
I start 2014 with a wedding in London this week, followed by exhibiting at The National Asian Wedding Show in Bradford and Birmingham. In the meantime, the images below sum up my year.
Happy new year.

As a makeup artist, i come across photographers everyday. Bhavna was a unique bundle of happiness… Meeting her at a dear friend’s functions, i felt like this beauty went the EXTRA 50 miles not just 1..! Lol. Someone who made herself at home & helped out like she was family, calmed down the stresst bride as well as being one of the best at the game! Beautiful photos captured by a beautiful woman. Absolutely fantastic! What a great year you’ve had!!! Thank you once again for capturing all our wedding events so beautifully and it was during our wedding portrait shots that you broke your toe, although it didn’t stop you from running around and capturing our reception so amazingly!! A true testament to your brilliant work is that my cousin Anita has booked you for her wedding in April, I look forward to seeing you there!!! xx
