I love Sikh weddings, everyone involved sure knows how to party and this Derby Sikh wedding was no exception.
Sunita and Ricky had a fun two day celebration, full of colour, laughter and dancing.
I travelled to Nottingham, to a little village called Papplewick to cover Sunita’s Maiyaan and Nanke Shak ceremonies – Sunita’s family especially her sisters and cousins share a close bond, it was lovely to be part of such a beautiful close knit family…she also had an afternoon tea party set up, ideal for a tea lover like me.
Ricky’s family were just as welcoming and the boys thoroughly enjoyed the Maiyaan, covering Ricky in haldi.
The wedding took place at the Derby Gurdwara followed by a beautifully decorated reception at the Roundhouse in Derby.
Both Sunita and Ricky had their gorgeous outfits tailor-made in India.
Thank you Mamad Mossadegh for Second Shooting.
Here are some of my favourites from the days followed by the trailer made by Deneemotion.
